DuabaConnect User Guide

A task-by-task walkthrough of Studio, from your first brand to a month of approved posts.

Getting started

Create your account

Go to studio.duabaconnect.com/signup , enter your email and a password (at least 8 characters), and choose Create account.

Name your workspace

Usually your business or your brand. The workspace starts on the free trial: one channel and one post, plus a taste of the AI. No card is needed, and the trial has no end date.

Confirm your email

Open the link in the email we send. The AI assistant switches on for the trial once your address is confirmed.

Find your way around

The sidebar has three groups:

  • Studio: Home (what needs you today), Plan, Approvals and Brands.
  • Publish: Composer, Autopost, Channels, Groups, Media and Analytics.
  • Connections: API keys, Webhooks, Applications, Who has access, and Plan & billing.

Create a post at the top of every screen opens the Composer; the bell opens your notifications.

Home’s Start here steps take you through the first three things to do: connect a channel, add a brand, and write your first post.

1. Set up a brand

A brand is who you post as. Each brand has its own channels, its look, what it knows and when it posts. If you run social media for clients, each client is a brand. Open Brands and choose New brand.

TabWhat goes in it
Who it isName, website, tagline, social handle, call-to-action link, what it does, who it is for, its voice and strategy
LookSix colours, a heading and a body font (a Google Font name, or upload a .ttf or .otf), the logo, a logo for dark backgrounds, and an icon
MemoryWhat is true about the brand: notes, its website, documents (PDF, up to 10 MB) and flyers (pictures, up to 5 MB). Studio reads each one into short facts
ChannelsThe channels this brand posts to. A channel belongs to one brand
RhythmPosts a week, publish time, timezone, post days and days it never posts, how its posts are usually made, and whether a post made from the plan waits for approval or goes straight on the calendar

The AI only states facts from the brand’s memory, or what you type into a post. In Memory, mark each fact May be stated in posts or keep it private (the AI may use it as background, never say it), set Must cover for what it should mention, and give a date range for facts that expire, such as an event or an offer.

How many brands you can have depends on your plan: one on the trial and Starter, three on Growth, as many as you need on Business. Pause this brand (on Rhythm) frees its place.

2. Connect your channels

Open Channels and choose Add a channel.

PlatformHow it connects
LinkedIn, LinkedIn Page, X, YouTube, TikTok, TwitchSign in to the platform and approve access
Discord, Slack, Reddit, PinterestSign in; you pick the channel, subreddit or board for each post
TelegramNo sign-in: paste the channel and a bot token
Instagram, Facebook Page, ThreadsAsk us to add it (see below)

Instagram, Facebook and Threads. Meta has not yet approved our access, so your business gives our account access to the page and we add it for you. Fill in which account, a link and any notes, and choose Ask us to add it. The tile shows the request’s progress, from In the queue to Connected.

Each connected channel shows whether it is working, warns you when its access will expire, and has:

  • Approval first: posts to this channel wait until somebody with approval rights says yes. The check happens when a post is due, so posts already scheduled are covered too.
  • Settings, Access (what the platform allowed), Reconnect and Remove. Removing a channel cancels anything scheduled to it.

TikTok has two modes, under the channel’s Settings:

  • Post it for me: Studio publishes it. You choose who can see each post, and TikTok’s other settings, in the Composer. Until TikTok completes its review of Studio, these posts can only be private, and the TikTok account itself has to be private.
  • Send it to my TikTok drafts: TikTok notifies you and you finish the post in TikTok’s editor (the only way to add a TikTok sound). Automatic posts can only use this mode.

YouTube asks for each post whether it is a Short (vertical, up to 3 minutes) or a video (wide).

3. Write a post in the Composer

Choose who it goes to

Pick a brand or a group, then the channels under Send to. For Discord, Slack, Reddit and Pinterest, choose where inside the channel it goes. Use the brand (on by default) lets the AI use the brand’s look, voice and memory for this post.

Write it

Each chosen channel has a live preview, and you type straight into it. All channels share one caption until you choose Write just for … on one of them. If a caption is too long for a platform, Shorten for … fits it. Lengths are counted the way the platforms count them, so an emoji counts as two characters.

Add photos and video

Photos and video opens your media library (upload or drag in files up to 200 MB) and Canva. The same media goes to every channel.

Send it now or later

Under When, choose Post now or Schedule and a date and time.

After you send, each channel shows its progress: Waiting, Publishing, Live, In drafts, Waiting for approval, Failed or Skipped. You can leave the page; you’ll get a notification as each one goes up. If some channels fail, the post stays in the Composer with only those channels selected: fix what the error says and post again. The channels that went out won’t get it twice.

4. Make posts with AI

Generate writes a caption and hashtags for every chosen channel, and suggests a visual. Under Caption settings tell it what the post is about (“Put in the facts. The AI won’t make any up.”), and choose the tone, length, language (English, Pidgin or Twi), emojis, a call to action and how many hashtags on Instagram.

Under Media settings choose what to make:

KindWhat you getCost
ImageA picture in 4:5, from your words, or a photo of yours placed in a new scene15 credits
VideoA 10-second clip at 720p, from your words or one of your photos240 credits
Motion graphicAn animated design in the brand’s look1 AI post
PosterA single designed picture1 AI post
CarouselSeveral designed slides1 AI post
Voiceover (video and motion graphics)A voice in English or Akan (write the script in Twi for an Akan voice), with optional subtitles from the script+3 credits
AI musicA 30-second instrumental12 credits

Every plan includes a number of AI posts a month (each Generate, Shorten, motion graphic, poster, carousel or Canva fill is one) and AI credits for images and video. When the month’s AI posts are used, each further one costs a credit. If a video fails, your credits come back. See Billing & Plans for what each plan includes.

Good to know:

  • Video and motion graphics come with a paid plan, not the trial.
  • You can add your own music to video, after confirming you own it or have a licence. Platforms mute or remove posts with music they recognise.
  • Realistic AI images and video are labelled as AI-made on the platforms that support a label.
  • The owner or an admin can limit a team member to Captions only or No AI.

5. Design with Canva

Canva is rolling out. If the Canva tab says it is not switched on yet, it is on its way.

In Photos and video, the Canva tab connects your own Canva account. It stays yours: nobody else in the workspace can use it.

  • Design with Canva AI: Canva picks a template and designs the post; Studio’s AI puts in the post’s photos and checks every word. Canva’s part uses your Canva account’s AI credits; Studio’s part is 1 AI post. Pictures only.
  • Your Canva design: start a new design in Canva, or pick one of yours, then Fill it with AI (1 AI post; it works on a copy, so your design stays as it was) or Add it as it is (free). An animated design can come in as a video.

6. Plan a month: the Plan

Plan shows what each brand posts, day by day. Make each post from its row, check it, and approve it onto the calendar.

  • Add a post puts an idea on a day: the brand, the idea, what it says, and the media you want.
  • Upload a calendar brings in a CSV from Google Sheets, Excel or Notion. Studio matches the columns (you can change each match) and shows what it will add before anything is added. A row that lands on a day the brand never posts moves to the next day, and uploading the same file twice adds nothing.
  • Open a row to work on it. The side sheet shows the next step and what it costs:
    1. Make the post writes the words and makes the media in the format you chose.
    2. If the AI needed a fact it did not have, the row asks for it: answer and Make it again with this, or choose It is fine without.
    3. Approve puts it on the calendar. If its day has already passed, it goes out on the brand’s next post day.
    4. Or Ask for changes, say what to change, and make it again.
  • Locked rows are left alone by the AI. Open in the Composer lets you finish a row by hand; Save to plan keeps your edits on the row.
  • Posts you wrote in the Composer show on the Plan too, dashed. Posts by week opens the calendar.

A brand’s Rhythm tab decides whether a post made from the plan waits for approval or goes straight on the calendar.

7. Approve posts: Approvals

Approvals is one inbox:

  • From the plan: posts made from the plan waiting for your team, then the ones sent back, and the ones still being made. Approve them here, or Open one to see it in full.
  • Coming up, and with clients: what is scheduled, and posts waiting for a client on channels with Approval first. Only what needs a decision hides the rest.

Opening a post shows it channel by channel, every decision, and the conversation. Anyone with access can comment. The number beside Approvals in the menu counts what is waiting for you.

Clients see only what is going out on their own channels. They can Approve it or Ask for a change. If a client approves after a post’s time has passed, it goes out on the brand’s next post day.

8. The calendar

From the Plan, Posts by week opens a week view of everything scheduled and published. + on a day starts a post for that day. Click a post to:

  • edit its text and time (Save changes);
  • Post now;
  • Send again to the channels where it failed;
  • cancel it (Stop this post?);
  • Delete it (not once it is published).

9. Analytics

Analytics shows your channels over the last 7 or 30 days (90 on a channel’s own page), with Fetch the latest from the platforms to refresh.

  • Account figures (followers, views, subscribers and the like) for Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn Pages, Telegram, Pinterest, TikTok, X and YouTube.
  • Per-post figures (impressions, engagements, likes, comments, shares, clicks) for Facebook and Instagram.

The screen says which of your channels the platforms do not let us measure.

10. Your team and your clients

Open Who has access and choose Invite somebody: their email, their name, and what they may do.

RoleWhat they can do
OwnerEverything, including the plan and deleting the workspace
AdminEverything except billing, including who else has access
EditorWrites and schedules posts, and connects channels
Client — approvesSees only their own channels. Comments, asks for changes, and their approval releases a post on a channel that requires one
Client — view onlySees only their own channels, and can comment

Studio gives you a link to send them (copy it, or open it in your email). It works once and expires in seven days. They set their password and they are in.

Team seats come with Growth and Business; on the trial and Starter, the workspace is just you. Under Change you can also set a member’s AI access: All AI, Captions only or No AI.

11. Autopost

Autopost posts what turns up somewhere else:

  • a feed we read (RSS, Atom, a YouTube channel, most blogs);
  • a JSON endpoint we read, with a field mapping;
  • or your own system sending items to a URL we give you.

Autopost comes with Growth and Business; on Starter and the free trial the screen says so. Show me what it would post previews it. Whatever is already in the source when you add it is not posted; only new items are. Each rule either drafts a post for approval or posts it without asking. Automatic posts to TikTok always go to your TikTok drafts.

12. Media, groups and notifications

  • Media: your library of images and video, up to 200 MB a file. Video needs a paid plan.
  • Groups: saved sets of channels, so “post to all of these” is one choice.
  • Notifications (the bell): choose, per channel, what you hear about: posts going out, failures, approvals and comments.

13. Your account

Your account (under your name) shows your name, email and role. Delete account… deletes you after you type your email to confirm. If you are the only owner and others are still in the workspace, make someone else an owner first. If you are the last person in the workspace, its card subscription is cancelled and the workspace is deleted with you.

Troubleshooting

A channel says Disconnected or “Expires in N days”. Choose Reconnect on Channels. Posts due on a disconnected channel fail with the reason; send them again once it is back.

On the trial, the AI asks you to confirm your email. Use the link in the email we sent when you signed up.

A post is “Waiting for approval”. Its channel has Approval first on. Somebody with approval rights for that channel has to approve it in Approvals.

A channel stopped working after your plan ended. Channels beyond the trial’s one are paused, not deleted. They come back as soon as you pay again.
