Customers

A Customer record is global across all channels. The same person buying on the marketplace and on a branded store has one customer record.

What you can do

  • Search by email, phone, or name.
  • View order history across all channels.
  • Reset password (sends a reset email).
  • Edit address book entries (with the customer’s permission).
  • Add notes (internal — never shown to the customer).
  • Anonymise / delete for GDPR-style requests (SuperAdmin only).

Customer groups (Pro Mode)

Catalog → Customer Groups. Used for:

  • Targeted promotions (“VIP customers — 10% off”)
  • Wholesale pricing tiers
  • Internal segmentation (e.g. “high-LTV”, “at-risk”)

Customer groups are global. Adding a customer to a group affects every channel’s promotions that target that group.

Privacy & data requests

Sellub honours data deletion requests:

  1. Customer (or platform admin on their behalf) requests deletion.
  2. SuperAdmin opens Customers → [customer] → Anonymise.
  3. PII (name, email, phone, addresses) is replaced with anonymised-<id> placeholders.
  4. Order records are kept for tax/legal reasons but are no longer tied to identifiable PII.

Document every deletion request in the customer record’s notes before anonymising.
